  • Why Isn’t Resveratrol Being Used After Every Heart Attack, & In All Cases of Angina Chest Pain With Or Without Coronary Artery Stent?

May 8, 2019: by Bill Sardi

Stents (wire props) are placed within narrowed (stenotic) or blocked (blood clotted) coronary arteries that feed the heart with oxygenated blood over 2 million times a year in the U.S., mostly among men and women with angina chest pain.

The use of a coronary artery stent may sometimes be worse than the patient’s disease. The history of coronary artery stenting is one of presumed effectiveness.  Stent-induced heart attacks and deaths have plagued this widely practiced intervention since its inception.

  • NEW ERA OF SENOLYTIC DRUGS WILL BLAST AWAY AGING

December 10, 2018: by Bill Sardi

In the anti-aging pill arena 2018 has been the year of senolytic drugs – the prospect that synthetic molecules could soon erase the ravages of aging produced by a progressive aging process called cell senescence.

Four major milestones have been achieved in rapid fashion. These four developments started in 2011 with an animal study where the destruction of “senescent” cells improved the lifespan and health span of laboratory mice. That was followed by (2) the identification of small natural molecules that are capable of clearing the body of “senescent” cells; then (3) these molecules were then shown to improve the lifespan and function of aged mice; and (4) pre-clinical studies show these molecules are successful in quelling a wide range of maladies.

  • When “Finally Put To The Test” NutritionFacts.Org Says Resveratrol Pills Fail. We know better.

May 24, 2018: by Bill Sardi

If a newly published report is correct, that resveratrol (rez-vair-a-trol) dietary supplements are based upon on thread-thin if not altogether bogus science, I ought to be confessing I’m a charlatan and snake oil salesman and resign from my self-appointed position as defender of res-pills and editor at ResveratrolNews.com

The latest knife that has been thrown at resveratrol comes from a doctor-run website that claims it is an authoritative non-commercial source of information on topics like resveratrol.   The NutritionFacts.org website accepts no advertising and has no hidden sponsors.  There is no product line of dietary supplements that are being sold covertly at “SnakeOilWondersupplements.com.”  We are all pleased to hear that.

Anyone who has commercial interest in resveratrol pills, like myself, is biased I guess.  Yes, after living 73 years without any evident disease or need for medication, without a hint of a cloudy cataract or cholesterol (drusen) deposits at the back of my eyes that are apparent in 91% of adults my age, I guess I am biased.

  • The Pursuit Of Super Longevity
Its Forgotten Past And Tenuous Future

December 18, 2017: by Bill Sardi

It could be said that the “aging is optional” era began ~2003-2004 when geneticist David Sinclair of Harvard Medical School announced a connection between a life-doubling calorie restricted diet, the Sirtuin1 survival gene and the red wine molecule resveratrol (rez-vare-ah-trol).

Actually a decade earlier (1992) two researchers at Cornell University posited that resveratrol may be the active ingredient in wine that lowers circulating levels of cholesterol.

  • Mind Bending Drugs For Psycho Diets

September 11, 2017: by Bill Sardi

There is such a thing as a mental depression diet.  It’s called the American diet.  In response, physicians hand out anti-depressant pills making patients dependent on these pills for the remainder of their lives when their calorie-rich/nutrient poor diet is causing their problems.  Where does depression/anxiety emanate from? Not the brain but the intestines, what is now called the gut-brain axis.  In a misdirection, mood-altering drugs directly target neurotransmitters in the brain.

Altered gut bacteria early in life, particularly from over-use of antibiotics that literally sterilize the gut, and modern sugar-laden carbohydrate-rich diets by virtue of their generation of low-grade chronic inflammation, increase the risk for a depressed mood and eventually losing one’s mind later in life.

  • Oligarchs Take On Challenge To Develop Anti-Aging Pills; But Will Only Oligarchs Be Able To Afford Them?

August 12, 2017: by Bill Sardi

Oligarch: a very rich business leader with a great deal of political influence.

    Main points:

    • Private enterprises, funded by oligarchs, have commandeered the pursuit of an anti-aging pill, rather than the traditional funding from the National Institutes of Health.
    • Oligarchs may be the only ones who can afford this technology they are developing as health insurance plans don’t pay for a diagnoses of “premature aging” and the masses have limited discretionary income to purchase anti-aging pills out of their own pocket.
    • There are economical non-patentable technologies that have been shown to tickle known longevity genes that are not likely to be employed by these oligarch-driven biotech companies.
    • More research is not needed as gene pathways to produce exceptional longevity and their activators are already known. What is needed is applied science.
    • Humans age at three different speeds throughout their lifetime: (1) childhood growth – no biological aging, just birthdays; (2) full growth and accelerated aging; (3) cessation of aging and a static state.
    • The true scientific reason why humans grow old is that they accumulate minerals as they age and “rust” and “calcify.” Efforts to produce anti-aging pills need to address overmineralization. The overmineralization theory of aging is the only explanation as to why humans age at three different speeds.
    • Resistance to anti-aging pills is expected from many quarters, including the medical establishment, pharmaceutical companies, life insurance companies, politicians, the news media and even religious organizations.
    • Because of this resistance, the pursuit of super-longevity is going to remain an individual one, not a societal one.
    • Economical pathways to prolong the human lifespan exist in the form of food and water fortification and dietary supplementation. But these require policy and regulatory changes emanating from the political sector that is largely bought off by industry and “oligarchs,” leaving such advancements to go by the wayside.
    • Reinstalling the “vitamin C gene” is one example of a restorative technology that could be universally transferred to future generations. Longevity would then be inherent, as it was long ago in human history.
    • A small nutraceutical company has already achieved more than the Google/Alphabet-led CALICO venture that is fueled by $1+ billion of capital. But that accomplishment is being shunned and overlooked.

  • How Longevinex® Makes The World’s Best Resveratrol Pill

January 7, 2017: by Bill Sardi

There have been many efforts to produce an advanced resveratrol pill that stabilizes this wonder molecule, enhances its oral absorption, maximizes its immediate bioavailability (get as much unbound resveratrol past the liver’s detoxification system), enhances its biological activity, delivers it in modest doses to produce a hormetic effect (hormesis = provision of a biological stressor in a mild dose to activate the body’s internal antioxidant system) and deliver it safely without potential toxicity when administered intended or unintended mega-doses.
